Role Overview

We are seeking a Power BI Expert to support a nonprofit community services program. The role involves providing technical consulting to design a step-by-step roadmap for building a dashboard and subsequently developing the dashboard using data from a case management system. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in data modeling, SQL, and Power BI dashboard development along with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand program goals and reporting requirements.

Create a step-wise roadmap outlining the approach for dashboard development.

Connect and integrate data from Caseworthy (via SQL database) into Power BI.

Design and build intuitive, interactive dashboards and reports with KPIs, widgets, and tiles.

Ensure data quality, validation, and security best practices in dashboard development.

Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to the client's internal team for ongoing maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven expertise in Power BI development (dashboard design, DAX, Power Query).

Strong experience in SQL database querying, data extraction, and transformation.

Hands-on experience in building roadmaps for BI solutions.

Experience with Case Management Applications (preferably Caseworthy) is highly desirable.

Ability to simplify complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical users.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience working with nonprofits or community service organizations.

Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipelines.

Knowledge of data governance and compliance best practices.
