Head Design

Primary Responsibilities

A) Related to Design

• To read, understand and forward comments on new purchase order, modification of existing plant and technical specification for requirement of design & documentation, ensuring the Correct input data for satisfactory documentation.
• To check & approve Design Calculations for Upcoming Projects using Standard Design Data, ensuring to meet design parameters with 100% accuracy.
• To check and approve P & ID, Layout & Foundation Drawings for projects along with Technician Draughtsman using software like AUTOCAD, ensuring to meet design parameters.
• To check and approve Standards of P & ID, Layouts & Foundation Drawings for various plant capacities, ensuring utilization of the same with 5% changes.
• To check and approve Bill of Materials / Supplement BOMs for projects, ensuring the fulfillment of plant requirements.
• To check and approve Standard Bill of Materials for different Plant capacities, ensuring utilization of the same with 5% changes.
• To check and approve Process Design Related ISO Documentation, ensuring Regular & Comprehensive Maintenance of Records for various design activities.
• To check and approve Electrical Input / Output List For Control Panel, ensuring to meet Plant Operating Procedures.
• To check and approve Operation & Maintenance Manual, ensuring the satisfactory inclusion of sufficient data for proper operation & maintenance of the Plant.
• To check and approve RQA after the plant is built but before dispatch & to revise the same according to the Modification occurred at sites with 100% accuracy.
• To check Documents like Suppliers manual, certificates (as per the purchase order) to be sent to clients as per PO with help of Manager- Store and Manager-purchase.
• To check Dosing rate calculations with the help of flow dose software & technical specification for dosing of acid and antiscalant during operation of plant, ensuring satisfactory operations of plant at sites.

B) Related to trials

• To check the reports of samples received from clients based on the primary parameters (like Conductivity, PH, ORP, Appearance, Suspended particles, Odour).

• Factory trials: On receipt of confirmation from marketing, plan with Manager Trails for factory trials on the samples using pilot/demo plants.

• To review the reports of the same and ensuring that the reports are forwarded to Marketing & Director. The parameters checked during Factory Trials are Feed Flow Rate, Permeate Flow Rate, Recovery, Temperature, and Membrane conditions after Trials, Effect of Rinsing/Cleaning after trials.

• Site Trials:

• To follow up with marketing department for details and plan for the dispatch the pilot plants, service engineers to site.

• To ensure that the service engineer submits trial report in a timely manner.

• To review the site trial report before forwarding it to Marketing department and Director Technical after completion of trials.

• To check the reject/permeate parameters meet the requirement of client

• To check the effect of Effluent on membrane and recovery during longer operation.

• Factory Trials of the plant

• To be associated with production during factory trials when plant is ready.

• To check the parameters during trials & filling the log sheets.

• To compare the parameters with designed parameters and provide approvals/comments on the same.

• To develop and document operating procedures.

• Responsible for regular and comprehensive evaluation report of factory trial, this is to be submitted to the Head of the department / Director Technical / marketing / agents.

Secondary responsibilities

• Design & Process data collections.
• Preparing data bank for plant & compare with similar type of plant.
• Interaction with clients on phone or emails for any design / drawing changes / clarifications.
• Interaction with suppliers for requirement of any design related data.

Budget responsibilities

• Approval of Laboratories Bills.
• Approval of Design personnel expenses statements.

Environmental Condition

Normal Office Environment, however at times visits to clients, being in factory environment may be witnessed.
