Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounts will support the finance department in managing daily accounting and financial operations. This role involves preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, managing audits, assisting in budgeting and forecasting. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as per applicable accounting standards (e.g., Ind AS/IFRS).
  • Ensure timely and accurate closing of books of accounts.
  • Manage reconciliations of key accounts (banks, intercompany, vendor, customer).
  • Monitor GL entries and ensure accuracy.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights to management.

3. Taxation & Compliance

  • Support GST, TDS, income tax filings, and related compliance activities.
  • Liaise with external consultants and ensure timely tax payments and returns.
  • Keep updated with changes in tax laws and accounting standards.

4. Audit & Internal Controls

  • Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors during audits.
  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls and processes.
  • Address audit queries and ensure timely closure of audit reports.

5. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Approve and review vendor invoices and employee reimbursements.

6. Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g, Tally, QuickBooks, etc)
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
