Role & responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of bakery items such as breads, cakes, cookies, pastries, and desserts.
  • Create high-end confectionery products, including chocolates, sugar work, and specialty desserts.
  • Design and decorate cakes and desserts to a high professional standard.
  • Monitor ingredient stock and place orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the bakery and prep areas in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Experiment with new recipes and contribute to seasonal and special event menus.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and pastry assistants when needed.
  • Monitor baking times and oven temperatures to ensure product consistency and quality.
  • Coordinate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Maintain accurate production records and minimize food wastage.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Proven experience as a Bakery and/or Confectionery Chef
  • Culinary degree or certification in Bakery & Confectionery (preferred but not mandatory).
  • In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Artistic flair for dessert presentation and decoration.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and during high-demand periods.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a passion for food.
