Aquis Search has been mandated to hire the Head of Human Resources – India for a leading global financial institution. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity based in Mumbai.

The role will serve as a strategic HR partner to the India CEO and collaborate with APAC HR leadership to drive end-to-end HR strategy, including talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leadership to design and deliver the HR strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Lead a mid-sized HR team across recruitment, C&B, operations, employee experience, and talent development.
  • Act as the culture custodian—promoting inclusion, engagement, and a strong employer brand.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls for HR processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships, workforce planning, and HR budgeting, including expatriate management.
  • Spearhead D&I initiatives and succession planning frameworks.
  • Lead HR transformation and change management efforts in a matrixed environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 15 years of HR experience in BFSI or global investment banking environments, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management, especially in matrix reporting structures.
  • Deep expertise in C&B, performance systems, and talent lifecycle management.
  • Strong grasp of Indian labor law and regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaborative, strategic, and execution-focused leader with excellent communication skills.
  • MBA/PG in Human Resources or related discipline.
