Job Description:
We are hiring a practical and experienced Franchise Operations Manager to improve and standardize operations across our franchise outlets in India. This is a field role with heavy travel (about 25 days per month). The main goal is to ensure each franchise delivers consistent service, quality, and profitability by implementing SOPs, training teams, and fixing operational gaps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to franchise outlets across India (≈25 days/month) to audit operations and implement improvements.
- Standardize and fine-tune operating procedures (SOPs) for service, kitchen, hygiene, and safety.
- Conduct on-site training and coaching for franchise managers, captains, and kitchen teams.
- Carry out regular operational audits (service, food quality, cleanliness, compliance) and follow up on corrective actions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (sales, food cost, wastage, labor cost, guest feedback) and recommend actions to improve profitability.
- Support new franchise openings and operational roll-outs (setup, training, checklists).
- Help franchisees resolve operational challenges and escalate issues to corporate when needed.
- Work with procurement to standardize vendors, portioning, and par-stock levels.
- Prepare clear visit reports and weekly/monthly performance summaries for senior management.
- Drive local promotions or operational changes to boost sales and guest experience at franchise level.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in multi-unit restaurant operations, franchise operations, or operations consulting (QSR, casual dining, or chains preferred).
- Proven track record of improving outlet performance and ensuring consistent standards across multiple locations.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (~25 days per month).
- Strong people skills: training, coaching, and stakeholder management (corporate + franchisee).
- Good analytical skills — able to read P&L drivers, track KPIs, and recommend measurable actions.
- Practical problem-solver — comfortable working on-site to fix issues hands-on.
- Good communication and report-writing skills in English; comfortable presenting to senior management.
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Business, or related field preferred.
- Comfortable using POS reports, Excel (basic to intermediate), and standard operations tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with franchising systems or running multi-city rollouts.
- Knowledge of local market operations, vendor management, and cost control techniques.
- Certification or training in operations management, Six Sigma, or hospitality training is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varied outlet conditions.
