Role & responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Business growth: Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for gold loans.
  • Team leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of branch managers and other staff to achieve business goals.
  • Operational management: Oversee all gold loan operations in the region, including processes, staff training, and customer satisfaction.
  • Risk and compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory compliance requirements and internal policies related to gold loans, collateral security, and risk management.
  • Market expansion: Identify new business opportunities, expand the branch network, and develop plans for market penetration.
  • Performance analysis: Monitor key performance metrics, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Skills and qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 8-15 years of experience in the gold loan industry, preferably with non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) or banks. Experience in the microfinance sector is often a plus.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of gold loan products, operations, regulatory compliance (including microfinance and NBFC norms), and risk controls.
  • Travel: Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region.
