Position Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving business growth through direct field sales, identifying new market opportunities, and managing a team of sales executives to achieve regional and national sales targets. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong leadership skills, proven field experience, and a passion for building long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities in assigned territories or sectors.
Conduct regular field visits to meet clients.
Generate leads, follow up on inquiries, and convert prospects into customers.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in line with company policies.
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business and referrals.
Team Leadership & Management
Lead, train, and motivate a team of sales executives / representatives.
Assign territories, set sales targets, and monitor team performance.
Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and on-field training sessions.
Foster a performance-driven culture and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
Market Research & Strategy
Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer feedback.
Provide inputs for product development, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to plan campaigns and exhibitions.
Reporting & Compliance
Ensure timely collection of payments and adherence to credit policies.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong field sales experience in B2B / industrial / chemical products (preferred).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Leadership qualities with experience in managing and motivating teams.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel.
Qualifications & Experience:
-Education: Graduation in any field.
-Experience: 3–8 years of experience in sales/business development, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or team-handling role.
