Application Support Engineer

Reporting Structure

Reports to Project Manager

Education

Bachelor's Degree in any disciple. Bachelor's Degree in engineering preferred.

Experience/ Qualifications

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in business application technical support.

  • 3+ years of experience working on project teams

  • Proven experience supporting mission critical IT applications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience and knowledge in the following areas required:

ØServer operating system (Windows and Unix)

ØSQL and programming languages

ØTo develop and maintain JEE and .Net applications

ØTo provide operational support for existing .NET and J2EE applications

ØTo analyze, design, code, test, debug, document and maintain applications

Ø Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. sites, slides, drive, docs,etc..)

Industry

Preferably from a Technology, ITES, Shared Services or Banking organization

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and 2 support of production applications

  • Act as a subject matter expert of assigned applications, and as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders

  • Update application configuration as needed to meet the business requirements

  • Maintain application configuration including user security

  • Monitor application health and performance

  • Interface directly with software vendors and consultants for development and support

  • Consult directly with users to assess their needs and then create and implement a strategy to improve either the business or application

  • Create knowledge base documentation and training materials for End User Support (EUS)

  • Create technical documentation for internal department consumption

  • Interpret, author and update technical and user documentation as needed

  • Assist the business in developing business requirements and creating technical/functional documentation

  • Escalate issues and risks and proactively takes ownership for resolution.

  • Share lessons learned and best practices across projects, building relationships with stakeholders at all levels

  • Provide IT PMO with lessons learned and best practices related inputs.

  • Should be well versed on the MS Word/Excel/PPT

Certifications

Relevant certifications will be an added advantage

Employment Type

All positions are on a fixed term contract on a full-time basis exclusively for ReBIT, initially for a period of five years, extendable by mutual consent
