Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an MEP (Electrical) BIM Modeler located in Mangaluru. The MEP BIM Modeler will be responsible for creating and managing detailed building information models, specifically focusing on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with architects and other engineers to develop construction drawings, ensuring model accuracy and compliance with industry standards, and assisting in the coordination of design and construction phases.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D BIM models for MEP systems (electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) using Revit and other BIM tools.
  • Interpret and work from architectural/structural drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate and clash-detect MEP systems with structural and architectural elements.
  • Prepare shop drawings, layouts, and as-built drawings from BIM models.
  • Maintain BIM standards, templates, and families as per project requirements.
  • Collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure model accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
  • Update models as per design changes and ensure version control.
  • Generate schedules, quantities, and material take-offs from BIM models.
  • Support the BIM Coordinator/BIM Manager in implementing project BIM execution plans.

Qualification

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in MEP modeling using BIM/Revit (or similar software).
  • Solid understanding of MEP systems and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks (clash detection).
  • Knowledge of BIM standards (LOD, COBie, ISO 19650, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
