Job Title: Plant Head – Signage Manufacturing Industry

Location: Shivane, Pune

Department: Operations / Manufacturing

Reports To: Director

Job Purpose:

The Plant Head is responsible for overseeing the entire plant operations of the signage manufacturing unit. This role ensures productivity, quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of signage projects while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. The Plant Head will lead teams across production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production & Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and manage all manufacturing activities to meet delivery schedules.
• Monitor production processes, ensuring efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
• Implement lean manufacturing and process improvements to enhance output.
• Ensure adherence to design specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.

2. Quality Assurance & Control

• Establish and enforce quality standards for signage products (fabrication, printing, finishing, installation readiness).
• Monitor inspection processes to minimize defects and rework.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/industry-specific quality norms.

3. People & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, engineers, and shop-floor staff.
• Plan workforce requirements and allocate resources effectively.
• Drive a culture of safety, discipline, and accountability within the plant.

4. Plant Maintenance & Safety

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of machines, tools, and utilities.
• Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Promote best practices in workplace safety and environmental sustainability.

5. Cost & Inventory Control

• Optimize production costs by controlling wastage, improving resource efficiency, and reducing downtime.
• Coordinate with purchase and stores for raw material availability and inventory management.
• Maintain budgetary control over plant expenses.

6. Strategic & Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement process automation and technology upgradation in signage manufacturing.
• Align plant operations with overall business goals and growth strategies.
• Ensure smooth coordination with design, project management, and installation teams.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• In-depth knowledge of signage manufacturing processes (metal fabrication, acrylic, vinyl, LED integration, digital printing, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with ERP / production planning software.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma is preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• 12–18 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Prior experience in signage, display, fabrication, or related manufacturing industry is mandatory.

• On-time delivery performance.
• Quality rejection/rework percentages.
• Plant efficiency and resource utilization.

• Cost optimization and budget adherence.

Note: This role demands a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of signage manufacturing processes and the ability to manage large teams while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50, ₹70,000.00 per month
