Sales & Marketing Manager Role Overview:

The Sales & Marketing Manager position based in Baroda focuses on developing and executing strategies to drive business growth. Key responsibilities include managing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, conducting market research, coordinating with business units and operations heads, monitoring sales performance, creating marketing campaigns, and reporting to senior management.

These positions require a blend of technical knowledge, sales expertise, and leadership skills to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.

Sales & Marketing Manager role:

Responsible for developing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, conducting market research, and reporting to senior management.

The position is based in Baroda, Transformer Plant and reporting to BU Head, Transformer Business

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies targeting utilities, renewable energy, industrial, and OEM segments
  • Achieve sales targets set by management / BU Head, aligned with manufacturing capacity and lead key account management
  • Take complete ownership of order generation to receivables collection from customers.
  • Drive new product launches including inverter-duty and specialty transformers
  • Oversee tender management, pricing strategies, and coordinate delivery commitments with internal teams
  • Build relationships with C-level executives, represent the company at industry events, and develop channel partnerships
  • Monitor competitors, identify emerging markets such as green hydrogen, BESS and EV infrastructure
  • Lead contract negotiations for high-value projects and ensure compliance with local content and tender requirements
  • Manage order book, revenue forecasting, payment terms, and segment-wise sales
  • Collaborate closely with BU Head, Desing, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams

Skills Required:

  • Sales & Marketing Skills:

Strong sales and marketing knowledge, communication, negotiation, CRM proficiency, analytical abilities, and relationship management, Sales / Order Closure.

  • Technical Knowledge:

Comprehensive understanding of transformers, including their specifications, applications, and relevant industry standards.

Possessing a strong technical understanding of transformer specifications, standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE), and applications.

Acting as a technical liaison between the client and internal teams (engineering, production, etc.).

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and solve problems effectively.

  • Relationship Management:

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • CRM Proficiency:

Familiarity with CRM systems for managing customer data and sales activities.

  • Qualifications and experience:
  • B.E / B. Tech in Electrical Engg, with BS/MS in Business Administration or related fields.
  • Strong business insights and relevant industry experience of minimum 10 years.
  • Proven track record as sales representative or manager with consistent target achievement
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to drive sales processes from planning to closure
  • Strong business insight and industry expertise
  • Excellent mentoring and people management skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning through workshops and seminars
  • Deep technical knowledge of transformers, industry standards, utility procurement, and power system integration
  • Strong industry network and understanding of renewable energy and various power sector segments.
