L1 Support Engineer - Hadoop Ecosystem
We are looking for a L1 Support Engineer to join our 24x7 operations team. This role involves providing critical first-line support for a large-scale data platform based on the Hadoop ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide first-line technical support for production issues across the Hadoop platform, ensuring rapid diagnosis and resolution.
• Perform monitoring and execute system health checks.
• Utilize SQL for data validation and initial incident investigation.
• Apply basic Unix/Linux commands for log analysis and platform troubleshooting.
• Support core Hadoop ecosystem components, specifically Sqoop, Hive, and Impala, handling job monitoring and basic issue resolution.
• Escalate major issues and complex incidents to L2/L3 support teams following established protocols.
• Document incidents and contribute to the knowledge base.
• Participate in rotational shifts to ensure continuous 24x7 platform coverage.
Required Skills
• Experience in an IT support, operations, or technical role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Competence with basic Unix/Linux commands.
• Familiarity with the Hadoop ecosystem and hands-on experience with Sqoop, Hive, and Impala.
• Must be a collaborative team player with the ability to manage pressure effectively.
Desired Skills (Advantage)
• Knowledge or experience with Spark and PySpark.
