Qualification
- Masters degree in Marketing, Market Research, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
Experience Required
- 8 to 10 years of experience in market research or consumer insights, preferably within the FMCG / Durables / Homeware / Stationery products.
Required Candidate for -
Were on the lookout for a Market Research Manager who will be responsible for leading the research and insights function to guide data-driven decisions across brand, product, pricing, and communication strategies. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in quantitative and qualitative research, a deep understanding of consumer behavior, and experience in the FMCG / Durables / Homeware / Stationery products. The market research manager spearheads the planning and execution of all research tasks for all brands of SSIPL across diverse product categories, business verticals and distribution channels. As head of market research and insights, for all the brands, develops research plans and strategies that resonate with the business & growth objectives.
Skills Required:
- Strong experience with both primary (qualitative & quantitative) and secondary research.
- Hands-on experience with research tools (NielsenIQ, Kantar Worldpanel, Ipsos, YouGov, Brandwatch, Helium etc.).
- Excellent analytical, storytelling, and presentation skills.
- Ability to convert data into actionable insights and strategic business recommendations.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Consumer & Market Insights
- Design, plan, and execute consumer research projects (usage & attitude, brand tracking, concept testing, packaging, pricing, ad testing, etc.).
- Analyze and interpret market trends, competitive intelligence, and consumer data to identify growth opportunities.
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations for marketing, sales, and product development teams.
- Monitor consumer preferences and emerging lifestyle trends that could impact product categories.
Brand & Category Support
- Partner with brand teams to provide insights that influence brand positioning, communication, and innovation strategy.
- Support new product launches with consumer validation, market sizing, and post-launch performance analysis.
- Track brand health and category performance through syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, Ipsos, etc.).
Research Strategy & Vendor Management
- Develop annual research plans aligned with business and marketing objectives.
- Manage external research agencies, from brief development to methodology, fieldwork, and report delivery.
- Ensure data quality, methodological rigor, and cost efficiency in all research activities.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Category, and Finance teams to ensure insights drive business planning.
- Present findings and strategic implications to senior management in clear, impactful formats (dashboards, presentations, reports).
- Collaborate with digital and analytics teams to integrate traditional and digital data sources.
