We have an opportunity for HEAD - HSE at our HO - Mumbai.

Role & responsibilities

The Head of HSE is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy across the organization. The role ensures full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best industrial practices and fosters a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and review the companys HSE strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and business goals.
  • Lead and oversee HSE functions across multiple solar construction and operation & maintenance (O&M) sites throughout India.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to site HSE teams, ensuring uniform implementation of HSE standards and practices across all project locations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Identify and interpret client-specific HSE requirements and establish project-specific procedures to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all HSE requirements, and drive corrective and preventive actions wherever necessary.
  • Ensure that all project sites risks are systematically identified, assessed, and mitigated through effective control measures.
  • Conduct Environmental Aspect and Impact Assessments (EAIA) and develop sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring timely reporting and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Identify training needs and implement HSE training programs across all organizational levels to strengthen HSE culture and competency.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and support external audit programs to ensure continual improvement of the HSE Management System.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of HSE reports to management, clients, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and testing of Emergency Response Plans (ERP), ensuring adequate resources and readiness across all sites.
  • Drive a proactive HSE culture by promoting continuous improvement, ownership, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Willing to travel to project and O&M sites to review HSE implementation and compliance.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering from any branch.
  • Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from state technical education board.
  • PG Diploma in Environmental.
  • ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH IGC Preferable.
  • Minimum 14 Year of experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standard.
  • Experience in renewable energy preferred.
