Main Purpose

Head Drilling & Completions shall Plan, directs, and coordinates the activities of Drilling & Completion function with the objective of achieving safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of well delivery process.

Job Accountabilities

  • Coordinate, lead, manage, control, and report all drilling activities within HSE guidelines, Company policies and government regulations.
  • Direct and guide the preparation of the well delivery management system. Review and approve the implementation of well delivery management system.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinate the preparations of operational / engineering programs for drilling, completions, well testing, Frac/ Stimulation, work over operations.
  • Approve technical standards, contract requirements and budget constraints with the objective of achieving drilling targets.
  • Directs and coordinates all the activities of the D&C department. Monitor the operational plan to optimize performance, reduce NPT; and improve cost effectiveness of operations
  • Develop and ensure implementation of performance improvement initiatives.
  • Efficiently managing personnel resources, applying appropriate technology to optimize drilling performance and well costs and upgrading staff knowledge.
  • To interface with all Joint Venture Partners, Drilling Contractors, Asset Managers, G&G, Petroleum / Reservoir Engineering, Logistics, Contracts, Procurements, Finance and Human Resources.
  • Financial – Ensure all drilling operations and completion/ workover operations involving drilling rigs are performed according to asset timing and budget guidelines.

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)

  • In depth knowledge of Principles of well testing, completions, slick line, stimulation techniques, ability to frame tech specifications
  • Leadership, communication, inter-personal skills (approachability); Analytical skills; People Management

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)

·      Bachelor's in engineering with at least 25 years of relevant D&C experience of which 5 years of as Head of Department (D&C)
