Founded in 2011, Yunus Social Business Fund Bengaluru (YSBFB) uses the engine of business to drive social and environmental change. YSBFB is a full-lifecycle social enterprise builder. With offices in 6 countries, we work with a range of partners, spanning the globe. YSB has provided over 60 businesses with financial and non-financial support, serving 21 million people with essential products and services.

YSBFB, headquartered in Bengaluru and structured as a Non-Banking Finance Corporation (NBFC), offers non-dilutive, patient debt to social businesses across India developing models in WaSH, Waste, Agriculture and Livelihoods.

2. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

In 2022, a consortium was formed to address the complex, interconnected global Waste and WASH systems through innovative solutions & close collaboration. Our pilot-phase consortium is a USD 5Mn facility, bringing together 4 global organisations: SIDA, Yunus Social Business, IKEA and WASTE.

Diverse expertise in a consortium ensures effective financing and non-financing support for WASH and Waste initiatives. We are looking for a motivated, entrepreneurial professional to support the Associate VP – Fundraise and Technical Assistance in the execution and management of fundraising strategies and the delivery of a robust technical assistance (TA) program.

The scope includes:

  • Driving ecosystem engagements, convenings, and stakeholder partnerships for scaling impact
  • Supporting delivery of the technical assistance program for portfolio companies and promoting them through stories and case studies
  • Supporting development of various knowledge products
  • Supporting fundraise efforts for the scale-up fund with a targeted first close of $20m, including TA funds up to 15% of the corpus

3. RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Assistance Program

  • Support delivery of a customizable TA curriculum for investee companies
  • Coordinate onboarding processes in the TA program
  • Organize sectoral convenings and engagements with stakeholders to strengthen the support ecosystem
  • Represent YSB at sector events and forums to share our mission and progress

Social Media & Communications

·      Create and manage high-quality social media content that highlights program milestones, investee stories, and ecosystem engagements

·      Handle YSBFB's social media channels, ensuring consistent brand voice, timely posts, and active engagement with partners and stakeholders

·      Track performance of social media activities and iterate strategy based on analytics and feedback

Fundraising

  • Support the development of concept notes, proposals, decks, and due diligence documents for potential funders

Knowledge Products

  • Develop case studies for companies within the TA program
  • Support development of sectoral knowledge products
  • Support development of portfolio case studies

4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5–10 years of experience in communications, , technical assistance, or a related field
  • Experience in the WASH, Waste, Climate and Sustainability sectors will be a strong advantage
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism, mass communications, development studies, or a related discipline
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; strong skills in designing presentations / reports/ excel
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural and cross-functional teams
  • Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong client and stakeholder orientation
