1. POSITION VACANT: Finance Manager, Resolve to Save Lives, New Delhi (Remote)

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is a US based nonprofit organization partnering with countries, communities, and organizations to prevent 100 million deaths from cardiovascular disease and make the world safer from epidemics.

RTSL is committed to saving as many lives as possible by prioritizing partnerships with government, national, and local organizations in low- and middle-income countries to co-create, advocate for, and scale up activities in heart disease prevention and epidemic preparedness.

Resolve to Save Lives Services Private Limited (RTSL-SPL) in India collaborates with the Indian Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI), WHO-India, and the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), to provide broad-based technical assistance and support across different program areas. The goals of the RTSL-SPL supported cardiovascular health project are to:

(1) Improve hypertension detection and control at the primary health care level in India;

(2) Create and implement a national salt and excess sugar reduction strategic plan;

(3) Support the elimination of harmful artificial trans fats in the food supply; and

(4) Improve knowledge, attitudes and behaviours related to the harmful effects of a high-salt diet and the benefits of reducing salt intake in the community.

Apart from supporting IHCI, RTSL-SPL also works on strengthening digital platforms and data workflows to improve public healthcare systems in India.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting and working directly with Executive Director India, the Finance Manager (FM) shall be responsible for handling all finance and accounting activities relating to the India country office operations.

Key Job Responsibilities:

A. Compliance and Audit

(1) Recommend and implement financial processes in alignment with organizational requirements and goals;

(2) Ensure compliance with all legal and fiscal obligations applicable to RTSL-SPL in India;

(3) Timely filing of all statutory returns, ensuring their acknowledgement and assessment and compliance with all local regulations pertaining to a private limited company;

(4) Stay updated on amendments and changes to laws and statutory regulations that apply to RTSL-SPL in India;

(5) Manage internal and external audit, liaising with auditors and counterparts as applicable, ensuring these are conducted in time and as per legal requirements;

(6) Maintain records related to statutory compliances, such as audit reports and accounts statements (Salary, Employee State Insurance, Provident Fund, etc.);

B. Accounting Operations and Management

(1) Responsible for all transactions and accounting entries into the Sage Intacct accounting system;

(2) Coordinate with the Employer of Record and tax advisors as applicable on all matters related to payroll, taxes, expense reports, reimbursements, and other finance issues;

(3) Facilitate the execution of contractual agreements with selected program partners, enabling grant making of donor funds for the execution of approved activities;

(4) Manage bank and cash accounts, payments, ledgers and vouchers and all other records and book of accounts, on a day-to-day basis;

(5) Manage payroll and related benefits, including insurance and taxes, monitoring medical and other reimbursables and reconciling against entitlements, etc.;

(6) Manage books of accounts and monitor petty cash and bank balances, to ensure sufficient funds are available.

C. Budget and Financial Management

(1) Support financial planning, including the development of annual/ monthly budgeting exercises and accurate and timely reporting of actuals, enabling budget monitoring and tracking of program funds and grants;

(2) Collaborate with Operations to align resources with program goals, supporting effective decision-making and implementation across RTSL-SPL in India.

D. Other

(1) Take on other responsibilities, tasks or activities as reasonably required;

(2) Able and willing to work remotely and convene as needed for team meetings.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification

(1) Bachelors degree in finance, business administration, or accounting;

(2) Masters degree in Finance or MBA with a specialization in Finance, shall be preferred.

Experience

Minimum eight years of overall experience in finance and minimum five years working in finance and accounting, with a nonprofit organization.

Skills and Competencies

(1) Advanced understanding of general finance and budgeting and ability to apply accounting concepts;

(2) Well versed in PLC taxation and payroll statutory requirements;

(3) Skilled at navigating and contributing effectively in a matrixed management structure;

(4) Ability to work independently and as a team member; self-directed, ability to work with minimal supervision yet knowing when to ask questions;

(5) Excellent communication and customer service skills, plus discretion with sensitive information and ability to maintain confidentiality;

(6) Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to transform and communicate complex data for varied audiences;

(7) Experience in handling statutory audit;

(8) Ability to set priorities and problem solve.

(9) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), cloud software and computerized accounting systems like Sage Intacct or equivalent;

(10) Proficiency in database and relevant financial/ enterprise resource planning application systems;

(11) Advanced skills in written and spoken English and Hindi.
