Vedanta Mines Aluminium is instrumental in securing the Coal and Bauxite resources that fuel our alumina refineries, aluminium smelters, and power plants at Odisha and Chhattisgarh. In line with Vedanta Aluminium's vision of 3MTPA capacity with 100% forward and backward integration, the Mines Business is ramping up coal production to 50 MT annually and developing newly secured bauxite blocks to meet over 18 MT of requirements - forming the backbone of our integrated growth across the aluminium value chain.

Chief Operating Officer – Bauxite Mines
, a role central to the commencement and operationalization of new mining assets.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Drive Operational Excellence:
    Develop and implement robust strategies to manage Bauxite operations, ensuring 100% captive utilization of 18 MTPA bauxite at Lanjigarh. Deliver superior business outcomes across volume, cost efficiency, growth, and balance sheet performance.
  • Ensure Cost Leadership & Resource Security:
    Achieve significant cost reduction in bauxite operations while ensuring 100% bauxite security. Leverage best-in-class procurement practices, including online sourcing, to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Foster Innovation & Governance Excellence:
    Embrace cutting-edge technologies, digital transformation, and innovation. Benchmark operations against global best practices while strengthening advocacy, governance, and regulatory compliance across the bauxite value chain.
  • Safety, partner ecosystem management, talent development, quality, and ESG compliance will be key success factors.
  • Strategically plan and execute all pre-startup activities to ensure the timely commencement of Lanjigarh mines.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualification: B.E./ B. Tech/ MBA (preferrable) with 15-20 years of relevant experience
