Job Description: Business Manager - Educational Development & Institutional Sales (Bangalore)
Role Overview
The Business Manager will be responsible for driving the revenue and strategic expansion of our diverse portfolio of educational programs—including K-12 academic support, skills development, and career-focused courses—across the Bangalore region. This role requires a dynamic, results-oriented professional capable of engaging with multiple stakeholders, including schools, educational institutions, and corporate entities, to secure long-term partnerships and enrollments for both online and offline learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Institutional Sales (80%)
Market Penetration & Partnership: Identify, target, and establish strategic partnerships with private and public schools (Grades 3-12), coaching centers, colleges, and corporate L&D departments in the Bangalore territory.
- Course Promotion & Sales: Aggressively promote and sell a comprehensive range of programs, including:
- K-12 Courses: Academic support, Abacus, Vedic Maths, Olympiad preparation.
- Skill & Career-Oriented Programs: Robotics, Coding, AI, IOT, and other job-relevant skills.
- Consulting Services: Career Counselling and student profiling services.
- Client Engagement: Plan and execute direct outreach activities, including visiting institutions, conducting high-level presentations to Principals, Management Committees, and HR/L&D heads, and negotiating commercial terms.
- Events & Outreach: Organize and lead workshops, seminars, and product demonstrations at partner institutions to generate leads and finalize enrollment contracts.
Target Achievement: Consistently meet and exceed monthly/quarterly enrollment and revenue targets across all assigned product lines and territories.
Strategy & Analysis (10%)
Market Intelligence: Conduct regular market analysis to identify new trends, competitor activities, and emerging needs within the K-12, skill development, and corporate training sectors in Bangalore.
- Strategy Formulation: Develop and execute an annual business plan focused on achieving scalable and sustainable revenue growth through institutional channels.
Product Feedback: Act as the voice of the customer, providing timely and actionable feedback to the Product Development team to ensure courses remain relevant and competitive.
Team Management & Reporting (10%)
Reporting: Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide accurate weekly/monthly reports on sales activities, forecasts, and institutional engagement using the CRM system.
- Coordination: Liaise effectively with the Academic Operations and Marketing teams to ensure smooth course deployment, trainer allocation, and timely resolution of client issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of total experience, with a minimum of 3 years in Institutional Sales or Business Development specifically targeting schools, colleges, or Ed-Tech platforms.
- Domain Knowledge: Proven understanding of the Indian K-12 education system, including the needs for supplementary, co-curricular, and skill-based courses (e.g., Robotics, Abacus, Coding).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills in English. Proficiency in Kannada/local languages is highly advantageous.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to build immediate rapport and long-term trust with senior decision-makers (Principals, CEOs, Management Trustees).
- Must Have: A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel extensively within the Bangalore city limits and surrounding areas.

- Negotiation & Closing: Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable experience in closing mid-to-large value institutional contracts.

- Technological Fluency: Comfort working with online learning management systems (LMS) and demonstrating digital product features.
