Role Overview - We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager with a strong background in electrical switchgear manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for leading projects from order receipt to final delivery, including design approvals, procurement follow-ups, production planning, quality assurance, testing, dispatch, and client coordination. The role requires hands-on leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget,and meeting all technical, safety, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution  Prepare comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for LV/MV switchgear projects.  Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables in line with customer specifications and contractual obligations.  Monitor and control project progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.

Technical Coordination

 Coordinate with Design & Engineering teams for approval of GA drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.  Ensure all design documents meet client requirements, IEC/IS standards, and internal quality standards.  Work closely with Procurement & Supply Chain to track material requirements, vendor deliveries, and critical components (e.g., breakers, relays, CT/PT, busbars, enclosures).  Liaise with Production & Assembly teams to align manufacturing schedules with project timelines.  Coordinate FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) with clients/consultants, ensuring all testing protocols are met.

Client & Stakeholder Management

 Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors during the project lifecycle.  Conduct regular review meetings with customers to update project status and address concerns.  Manage scope changes, approvals, and contractual communications with clients

Quality, Compliance & Safety

 Ensure all projects comply with IEC/IS standards, ISO procedures, and safety norms.  Work with Quality Control teams to resolve NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and corrective actions.  Ensure site execution activities (where applicable) follow EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.

Financial & Commercial Control

 Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and variance analysis.  Handle client billing, documentation for payments, and certification from consultants.  Negotiate with vendors and contractors for cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

Team Leadership & Reporting 

Lead project teams consisting of planning engineers, project coordinators, and support staff.  Mentor junior staff and promote skill development within the project department.  Prepare and present MIS reports, dashboards, and project performance reviews for senior management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

 Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).  10–12 years of proven experience in Project Management for Switchgear Manufacturing / Electrical EPC projects.  Strong understanding of HT/LT switchgear systems, protection relays, control panels, busbar systems, and allied equipment.  Hands-on experience in project planning software.  Proficiency in ERP systems for material tracking and project monitoring.  Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.  Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-handling skills.  Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

 PMP / Prince2 Certification or equivalent project management credential.  Prior experience with utility projects, industrial switchgear installations, or turnkey EPC contracts.  Knowledge of Lean/Kaizen practices in manufacturing project management
