Role: Forex Operations Manager

Location: India (On-site) | Reporting to: Head of Operations

About The Opportunity
We are hiring an experienced Forex Operations Manager to lead FX operations, drive operational excellence and ensure timely, accurate settlement and reconciliation across multiple currencies and counterparty types. You will run day-to-day trade lifecycle workflows, embed controls for regulatory and AML requirements, and partner with technology and risk teams to scale a high-volume FX processing environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end FX trade operations: trade capture, affirmation, confirmation, settlement and exception management across spot, forward and NDF products.
  • Manage daily liquidity and settlement activities—coordinate with custodians, banks and internal treasury to ensure on-time settlements and funding.
  • Implement and monitor operational controls: trade reconciliations, break resolution, STP rates and SLA adherence to reduce settlement risk.
  • Lead a team of operations analysts: hiring, coaching, performance management and process documentation to drive consistent execution.
  • Collaborate with IT and product teams to optimise trade workflows, automate reconciliations and integrate trade capture systems and SWIFT messaging.
  • Ensure compliance with AML/KYC and regulatory reporting obligations; support audits and remedial action plans.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have

  • Proven experience managing FX operations and trade lifecycle for spot, forward and NDF transactions
  • Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT messaging and settlement processes
  • Experience with trade reconciliation and break management
  • Hands-on with treasury management systems or trade capture platforms
  • Working knowledge of KYC/AML controls and regulatory reporting standards
  • Analytical experience with SQL or similar tools to investigate exceptions and produce operational metrics

Preferred

  • Experience with Murex, Calypso or other treasury/trading platforms
  • Exposure to FIX protocol or electronic FX trading platforms
  • Prior experience running on-site operations teams in India for global FX desks
