Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Export Manager who can take full ownership of international business development, buyer deal closing, agent training, product sourcing, export operations, and compliance. This leadership role is crucial to driving HeartfulCraft's global growth and building a professional, scalable export ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities1. International Buyer Acquisition & Sales
- Identify and acquire overseas buyers: importers, wholesalers, retailers, distributors, and e-commerce companies.
- Execute cold calling, emailing, LinkedIn outreach, WhatsApp B2B messaging, and participation in trade directories/portals.
- Convert sample enquiries into confirmed bulk export orders with high efficiency.
- Prepare and negotiate quotations, price lists, and contracts with buyers.
- Achieve quarterly and annual export revenue targets.
2. Buyer Relationship Management
- Maintain long-term relationships with international clients.
- Ensure professional communication, timely follow-ups, and after-sales service.
- Handle buyer escalations and resolve queries with speed and accuracy.
- Promote HeartfulCraft's credibility and strengthen brand positioning globally.
3. Training & Managing Export Agents (Authorized Export Partners)
- Conduct structured training sessions for agents on:
- Lead generation (LinkedIn, directories, WhatsApp, cold email)
- Negotiation and deal closing techniques
- Export documentation basics
- Provide scripts, templates, and case-study learning for agents.
- Monitor their daily/weekly activity and ensure accountability for results.
- Mentor agents on real buyer enquiries until they achieve conversions.
4. Product Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Source a wide range of handicrafts: woodenware, textiles, brassware, leather, blue pottery, stone, eco-friendly décor.
- Identify and onboard artisans, manufacturers, and MSMEs from Indian craft clusters.
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and lead times with artisans.
- Oversee product sampling, development, and customization for buyers.
- Maintain updated supplier database with pricing and product range.
5. Export Operations & Coordination
- Manage the complete export cycle:
- Sample approvals
- Production coordination
- Quality control & compliance checks
- Packaging & labeling as per buyer/country standards
- Logistics & shipping (LCL/FCL, air, sea freight)
- Customs clearance & CHA coordination
- Ensure on-time shipments with zero documentation errors.
6. Export Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and review all export documents:
- Proforma Invoice, Commercial Invoice, Packing List
- Certificate of Origin, Inspection Certificates
- Bill of Lading / Airway Bill
- Insurance Certificates, Fumigation/Phytosanitary Certificates
- Ensure compliance with:
- HS codes & product classification
- Global safety/environment standards (CE, UKCA, CPSIA, REACH, ISPM-15)
- Export incentives (RoDTEP, Duty Drawback, MEIS/SEIS)
- RCMC, IEC, GST LUT/Bond filings
- Coordinate with auditors, CA, and CHA for smooth compliance.
7. Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Research and report on global demand trends, pricing, and buyer preferences.
- Identify new geographies, buyer segments, and untapped channels.
- Provide recommendations for new product development and design improvements.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual export growth plans.
Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate / MBA in International Business, Marketing, Commerce, or Supply Chain.
- 7–12 years proven experience in international exports with successful deal closures.
- Strong knowledge of handicrafts, textiles, home décor, or FMCG exports.
- Expertise in lead generation, negotiation, and deal closing.
- Familiarity with artisan clusters across India.
- Proficient in LinkedIn Sales Navigator, , Alibaba, IndiaMART, TradeIndia, Faire, and B2B portals.
- Hands-on expertise in export documentation, HS codes, and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and training skills.
- Ability to train and mentor agents, lead teams, and manage multiple functions.
- Willingness to travel across India and abroad for sourcing, exhibitions, and buyer meetings.
