Khan Academy India aims to deliver a world-class user experience to learners in India that is locally relevant and is enabled by a strong on-the-ground team and operations. Our learning system is mastery-based, which allows students to master key concepts at a pace that’s right for them before moving on to more challenging content. From serving under 500,000 learners in 2016, we are now serving almost 4 million learners a month across our websites, apps and youtube channels. These learners include both independent learners accessing us at home and teacher directed learners in schools. Our focus is to reach the underserved by making our content accessible in local languages and by working with large public school systems. Khan Academy is already available in Assamese, Hindi, Hinglish, Kannada, Gujarati, Tamil, Marathi, and Punjabi.

**ABOUT THE INDIA SCHOOLS TEAM**

In line with our focus to reach the underserved, we partner with government school systems to improve student learning outcomes by enabling teachers and students to optimally utilize the tools and resources on the Khan Academy platform. From our government partnerships, we have reached 1.2 million learners this last year, partnering with 8500+ schools across various states. Our goal is to expand our scale to reach over five million learners in five years.

The Schools Team works in a lean and collaborative way with our partners, developing strong implementation plans and providing support at every step of the way. Specifically, the team supports teachers and administrators through training and resources, and enabling peer-to-peer sharing. We learn and constantly iterate by gathering feedback and through data-backed insights and efficacy studies.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Khan Academy has been working in collaboration with the UP Basic Education Department to integrate Khan Academy platform into teaching and learning across all the Kasturba Gandhi Ballika Vidhyalayas (KGBVs) in UP. In these schools, students across Grades 6-8 are using Khan Academy platform as a supplemental learning resource to practice math and improve their conceptual understanding.

Given the success of the program, Khan Academy, in collaboration with the UP Basic Education department, is conducting the first ever AI pilot of Khanmigo, Khan Academy’s AI tool which is an AI assistant for teachers and an AI tutor of students in select KGBVs. Through this pilot, Khan Academy will work closely with the KGBV team to enable teachers and students to adopt and use AI meaningfully.

Khan Academy is looking for smart and driven Project Associates who will play a critical role on ground in driving this adoption on ground. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in not just understanding implementation of an Edtech program, but also get a close view of AI tool, and the role of AI in education.

**Please Note **:This is a contract role, with the contract ending on March 31, 2025**

**Your key responsibilities will be to**:

- Support the adoption of the Khan Academy’s AI tool, Khanmigo, in the pilot schools
- Conduct school visits to support teachers and students, problem solve, and understand the way Khanmigo is being used by teachers and students
- Help resolve any challenges being encountered, and any other support needed by them
- Monitor the program data through the implementation to inform decisions
- Conduct training sessions, as needed, at district level for the pilot school teachers
- Conduct training sessions, as needed, for students during school visit
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, such as manuals, logs, any issues and key decisions taken for improvements etc
- Assisting in preparation of documents and presentations for donor reporting as well as dissemination activities
- Collaborate with other teams at Khan Academy India to ensure timely and successful delivery of our program and services.
- Any other task as assigned in relation to this project

**ABOUT YOU**

**You would be a great fit for the role if you are**:

- Someone with **1-3 yrs work experience.** Having been an educator or having worked with government schools in Uttar Pradesh is an added advantage.
- **Fluent in Hindi (spoken and written)**:

- Someone with an **entrepreneurial mindset, including a high tolerance for ambiguity,** a penchant for experimentation, and a bias toward action.
