**Roles and Responsibilities**

Key Responsibilities:

- Primarily responsible for ensuring full compliance with Customs, EXIM and Foreign
- Trade Policy (FTP) regulations at PAN India and group level in coordination with
- plants / business units’ Tax teams, EXIM - Logistics team, etc.
- Build internal control for timely completion of provisional assessment, filing of appeal,
- refunds, FTP claims, etc. Tracking of BoEs or shipping bills which are provisionally
- assessed
- Outline the requirement of Import / Export licenses, URN (e.g. for Coal, Steel), etc for
- the products imported / exported by the group.
- Ensure customs /FTP benefits availed taken are in line with law and business model
- of the group. Also ensure the HSN classification adopted for imported and exported
- goods is correct.
- Timely realisation of FTP benefits such as Duty Drawback, MEIS, RoDTEP, etc.
- Explore avenues of duty optimisation (FTAs, import concessions, FTP, etc),
- operational schemes (AEO, Status Holder, etc) and other planning opportunities.
- Timely identification of any Customs risk and ways to streamline the same.
- Track and oversee the closure of obligations under Customs / FTP schemes and- authorities
- Customs and FTP process improvements and digitisation. SOPs for improving the
- Customs processes (e.g. maintaining the required customs documentation as
- required by law, closure of provisional assessment / release of Bank Guarantees,
- etc).
- Track and provide the list of contingent liabilities / tax provisions related to Customs,
- EXIM, FTP. Maintain MIS and control of related issues / matters of the Group.
- Handle the Special Valuation Branch (SVB) process and obligations for related party
- imports.
- Internal advisory role for Customs, EXIM and FTP issues for Plants, Business units,
- and Group entities.
- Keep track of changes in Customs, EXIM and FTP laws and related rules,
- notification, circulars, case laws, etc. to keep the compliances up-to date.
- Make representations to the various forum, authorities, and concerned Ministryto
- address the hardships faced in Implementation of Customs, EXIM and FTP
- regulations
- Dealing with Customs, DGFT and other related Government offices for efficient
- discharge of tax responsibilities
- Handle and oversee Customs, EXIM and EPCG audits / appeals / litigation etc. for
- the group.
- Ensure timely renewal of IEC, entitlement certificates, etc.
- Preparing timely and comprehensive updates to Top management on Customs,
- EXIM and FTP compliances, issues, trends, tax balances, litigations, etc.**Qualification / Preferred Skills**:

- Professional with around 8-10 years post qualification experience in Customs, EXIM
- and FTP work at big corporate/ Big 4 / good consulting firms
- Strong tax technical and data analytical + problem-solving skills.
- Worked on Customs Tools / Digitisation projects. Familiarity with SAP / other major
- ERPs preferred
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Maintain inter function relationship and work for the vision of the Company. Ability to
