**Job Summary**:

Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient care, performing administrative tasks, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare professionals. With a focus on professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Obtain and record patients' medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately and confidentially.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests, explaining procedures and providing support as needed.
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, venipuncture, EKGs, wound care, and specimen collection under the direction of healthcare providers.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and other prescribed treatments as authorized and supervised by healthcare providers.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies, following infection control guidelines and protocols.
- Assist with medical office procedures such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, greeting patients, and processing paperwork.
- Enter and update patient information, medical records, and billing codes accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems or paper charts.
- Coordinate patient referrals, appointments, and follow-up care with other healthcare providers and facilities as directed by healthcare providers.
- Communicate with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Provide patient education and counseling on topics such as medication instructions, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
- Respond to patient inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and courteously, escalating complex issues to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance activities to ensure high standards of care and service delivery.
- Engage in professional development activities, such as continuing education programs, workshops, and seminars, to enhance knowledge and skills in medical assisting practice.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
**Qualifications**:
- Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent training and education in medical assisting.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent credential preferred but not always required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) may be required depending on practice setting or employer preferences.
- Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in basic medical procedures and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to providing patient-centered care.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, recordkeeping, and data entry.
- Adherence to professional standards of medical assisting practice, including ethical conduct, confidentiality, and respect for patients' rights and dignity.
**Working Conditions**:
- Medical Assistants may work in various healthcare settings, including medical offices, clinics, hospitals, outpatient facilities, and specialty practices.
- Work hours may vary depending on the setting, specialty, and patient demand, with potential for rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Medical Assistants may be exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and emotionally demanding situations while providing patient care.
- Travel may be required for mobile healthcare units or outreach programs.
