**Job Title: Patient Care Assistant**

**Job Overview**:
As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and supportive care to patients in healthcare settings. Working under the supervision of registered nurses or other medical professionals, you will assist patients with activities of daily living, monitor their health status, and ensure their comfort and safety throughout their stay.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)**: Help patients with tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding, respecting their dignity and promoting their independence whenever possible.
- **Vital Signs Monitoring**: Regularly measure and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure, and respiratory rate, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff or appropriate medical personnel.
- **Mobility Support**: Assist patients with mobility limitations in moving safely within the healthcare facility, including transferring them between beds, chairs, and other surfaces, and providing support during ambulation or exercises.
- **Patient Comfort**: Attend to patients' comfort needs, such as adjusting bedding, pillows, and room temperature, providing blankets or other comfort items, and responding promptly to their requests for assistance or pain relief.
- **Assist with Medical Procedures**: Prepare patients for medical examinations, treatments, and procedures by setting up equipment and supplies, positioning patients comfortably, and providing emotional support and reassurance as needed.
- **Environmental Maintenance**: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment by ensuring that rooms and equipment are properly sanitized and stocked with necessary supplies, and promptly addressing any safety hazards or maintenance issues.
- **Patient Education**: Provide basic health education to patients and their families, including instructions on self-care techniques, medication administration, and follow-up appointments, under the direction of healthcare providers.
- **Documentation and Reporting**: Accurately document patient care activities, observations, and interactions in medical records or electronic health records (EHR), following established protocols and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- **Communication and Collaboration**: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team, sharing relevant information, reporting changes in patients' conditions, and collaborating to ensure coordinated care delivery.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role is beneficial, but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact compassionately and respectfully with patients of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, infection control practices, and patient safety principles.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the shift.
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, following instructions and contributing to a positive work environment.

**Working Conditions**:
Patient Care Assistants typically work in hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, or home healthcare settings, where they may encounter patients with various medical conditions and needs. The work environment can be fast-paced and demanding, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients in challenging circumstances. Shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required to ensure 24/7 coverage for patient care services.

**Salary**: ₹10,394.52 - ₹20,072.85 per month
