**Job Title: System Administrator**

**Location: GNB TECH, Chennai**

**Experience: 3 to 5 years**

**Job Summary**:
This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to support and enhance IT operations. Experience in Linux environments will be an added advantage.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Server Management**:

- Manage physical and virtual server infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Monitor system performance, ensure uptime, and proactively troubleshoot issues.
- Implement system backups, restore procedures, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Perform system patching, firmware updates, and manage server security.

**Network Administration**:

- **Maintain and manage network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points.**:

- **Configure and troubleshoot network services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, load balancing).**:

- **Monitor traffic, resolve performance issues, and maintain network security.**

User Account Management:

- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Administer Active Directory, SSO, MFA, and LDAP-based authentication systems.
- Address access issues and ensure policy compliance.

Technical Support & IT Operations:

- Provide end-user support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Maintain IT documentation, FAQs, and train users on IT policies and security awareness.
- Support office infrastructure setup, **including new system setup, cabling, peripheral installations, and basic electrical work when required.**

Electrical & Admin Support:

- Coordinate and support basic electrical maintenance related to IT equipment, including UPS, wiring, and power distribution.
- Assist with admin-related IT tasks, such as maintaining asset records, procurement coordination, office equipment setup, etc.
- Ensure a clean and organized IT environment (server room, storage areas, cables, etc.).

Security & Compliance:

- Implement IT security protocols and monitor threats and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, antivirus, and encryption measures.
- Conduct periodic audits and ensure compliance with company policies.

Automation & Scripting:

- Develop scripts using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Perl to automate routine tasks.
- Utilize configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to standardize system configurations.

Documentation & Inventory:

- Maintain accurate IT asset inventories and license records.
- Document network diagrams, access control lists, SOPs, and recovery plans.
- Regularly update configurations and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in system administration or a similar IT role.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Azure Administrator Associate, RHCE, or CCNA are a plus.

Technical Skills:

- Strong hands-on experience with Windows and Linux-based systems (Linux knowledge is a plus).
- Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and subnetting.
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud security practices.
- Proficient in scripting and using monitoring tools like Zabbix, Grafana, or Nagios.
- Ability to perform basic electrical tasks and infrastructure setup.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
