**About the Position**:
A System Administrator works in the IT Infrastructure Services domain and typically deployed on projects requiring installation / configuration, decommission, maintenance, migration and support of Compute, Storage or Network devices of IT enterprises.

**Responsibilities**:

- Investigation and restoration of hardware and operating system failures on servers, storage or network devices; and associated sub components
- Support customer’s infrastructure needs and install hardware and software
- Installation and initial configuration of Operating System on physical or virtual servers
- Installation, configuration and management of Services such as System Centre suite, Windows
- Deployment Server, Windows Server Update Services, Hyper-V, SQL Server etc
- Maintain compute, storage, or network systems’ security compliance
- Add users to a network, and assign and update security permissions on the network
- Interpret and solve problems when a user or an automated monitoring system alerts about issues in the infrastructure environment

**Qualifications**

**Required Technical Skills**:

- Knowledge of various Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, MAC etc)
- Installation and troubleshooting skills with various Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, MAC etc)
- Knowledge of server & network hardware platforms
- Understanding of basic Networking concepts such as Switching, Routing
- Understanding of Data Centres
- Basic knowledge about cloud computing

**Preferred Technical Skills**:

- Ability to write scripts using Power Shell / C# / C++ /.Net or similar technologies
- Microsoft Azure Administration

**Preferred Domain Knowledge**:

- Hardware Supply Chain Management
- IT Service Desk, Incident Management

**A system administrator’s job description might include**:

- Troubleshooting and providing technical support to employees
- Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts
- Performing regular security tests and security monitoring
- Maintaining networks and network file systems
