Job Role Description: Chef Assistant for fig house goa

Position Summary:
The Chef Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the culinary operations of a kitchen. Working closely with the head chef and kitchen staff, the Chef Assistant helps in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. This position requires a strong passion for culinary arts, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Food Preparation:

- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and instructions provided by the head chef or sous chef.
- Prepare sauces, dressings, and other components of dishes as required.

2. Cooking and Assembly:

- Assist in cooking various dishes, following established cooking techniques and standards.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food quality and safety.
- Help with plating and garnishing dishes to ensure attractive presentation.

3. Kitchen Organization:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including workstations and storage areas.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies.
- Properly label and store ingredients and leftovers to minimize waste and ensure food safety.

4. Equipment and Inventory:

- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
- Keep track of inventory levels and notify the head chef or sous chef of any shortages or discrepancies.
- Help with stock rotation to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and maintain efficiency.
- Assist in coordinating with other departments, such as the service staff, to ensure seamless dining experiences.

6. Health and Safety:

- Adhere to proper hygiene and sanitation practices in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the head chef or appropriate personnel.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a culinary or kitchen environment (preferred).
- Passion for cooking and a strong interest in the culinary arts.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (preferred).

**Salary**: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
