**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Pantry Chef to join our culinary team. The Pantry Chef is responsible for preparing cold dishes, salads, appetizers, and other dishes in the pantry section of the kitchen. They ensure that food is prepared to the highest quality and in line with the restaurant's standards. This role requires attention to detail, a passion for fresh ingredients, and a collaborative mindset.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Food Preparation**:
- Prepare cold appetizers, salads, garnishes, soups, and other menu items as directed by the Executive or Sous Chef.
- Portion and arrange ingredients and garnishes for easy access and efficient service.
- Ensure that all food items are prepared according to the restaurant's recipes, standards, and portion sizes.
- Maintain quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation.
**2. Pantry Station Maintenance**:
- Set up and organize the pantry station for service, ensuring that all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment are ready and easily accessible.
- Keep the pantry area clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Manage and maintain the cleanliness of all cold food preparation areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas.
- Ensure that all food handling procedures meet health and safety regulations.
**3. Inventory & Stock Management**:
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of ingredients and supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels of pantry items and notify the Sous Chef or Executive Chef when stock is low.
- Ensure that all ingredients are stored correctly, following food safety guidelines.
- Rotate stock regularly to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
**4. Collaboration & Communication**:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff, including cooks and servers, to ensure smooth and timely food preparation during service.
- Communicate effectively with the team to coordinate and manage orders, ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when needed.
**5. Safety & Hygiene**:
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment as required.
- Follow proper procedures for the safe handling of knives, utensils, and other kitchen tools.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience as a Pantry Chef, Line Cook, or in a similar kitchen role is preferred.
- Knowledge of cold food preparation, including salads, appetizers, and other pantry items.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to follow recipes and presentation standards closely.
- Good communication and team collaboration skills.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent training.
- Experience with menu planning and food cost control.
- Ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
**Work Conditions**:
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
