**Statutory Compliance and Payroll Officer - Job Description**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Payroll Management**:

- Manage the complete payroll process, including salary calculation, benefits administration, tax deductions, bonuses, and reimbursements.
- Review and validate timesheets, attendance records, and leave balances to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Prepare and distribute salary statements and payslips to employees.
- Resolve payroll-related queries and discrepancies in a timely manner.
- **Statutory Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with statutory laws, including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Income Tax (TDS), Gratuity, and Labor Welfare Fund (LWF).
- File monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns as required by government regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date records and registers for all statutory obligations.
- Stay updated on changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- **Payroll Reconciliation and Reporting**:

- Prepare payroll-related reports, such as salary summaries, variance analysis, and payroll cost reports.
- Perform monthly payroll reconciliations to ensure that all salary components are accurately processed and reported.
- Assist in audits related to payroll and statutory compliance.
- **Policy Implementation and Documentation**:

- Implement internal payroll policies, compliance procedures, and audit controls.
- Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll processing and statutory compliance.
- Ensure that employee data is managed and stored in a secure and compliant manner.
- **Employee Benefits and Compensation**:

- Handle the administration of employee benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other compensation schemes.
- Manage leave balances and accruals, ensuring that they are accurately reflected in the payroll.
- **Liaison with Internal and External Stakeholders**:

- Coordinate with internal departments like HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Act as a point of contact with various regulatory bodies such as labor departments, EPFO, ESIC, Income Tax, and GST departments.
- Facilitate the submission of required documents and respond to notices from regulatory authorities.
- **Employee Query Management**:

- Address employee concerns and inquiries related to payroll, tax, and statutory deductions.
- Provide guidance to employees on tax-saving schemes and benefits.
- **Training and Support**:

- Conduct training sessions for HR and Finance staff on payroll and compliance procedures.
- Support the HR team with compliance-related training and awareness sessions for employees.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Payroll Specialist Certification, or a Compliance Management Certificate, will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in payroll processing and statutory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, payroll taxes, and statutory regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive payroll and compliance data.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
