Reliability, Availability and Maintainability(Ram) Coordinator

NSB Omega is looking for a Reliability, Availability and Maintainability(RAM) Coordinator for our MAJOR Utilities Client in Soldiers Pond, NL.

**Assignment Description**

**JOB FUNCTION**
- Responsible for ensuring that the requirements as outlined in the RAM performance guarantee are tracked and followed by Contractor during the performance guarantee period.
- Supports oversight and coordination of other contractors, as required.
- Ensure matrices are established, communicated and followed to meet the requirements of the RAM.
- Work with Operations and Assets team to ensure preventative and corrective maintenance activities are optimized and meet requirements of RAM.
- Ensures work is performed with a focus on safety, the environment, quality, cost, schedule,

productivity, effectiveness, and reports to Senior Manager HVDC Transmission on work execution metrics.
- Works closely with Management, Operations, Engineering and Commercial team to ensure resources are dispatched efficiently and appropriately to meet RAM requirements.
- Ensure all deficiencies arising during the RAM period are appropriately tagged, prioritized and corrected efficiently.
- Supports contract development and coordination of Operations and Maintenance Contractors as required in meeting RAM requirements.
- Receives direction form Senior Manager, HVDC Transmission

**JOB SCOPE**
1. Ensure safe execution of the work plans.
2. Determines, and confirms with short term planning personnel, resource allocation requirements in advance of the current year to ensure proper resource budgeting, logistics, etc. to meet RAM requirements.
3. Ensure staffing levels, necessary tools, and inventory are available to perform the work identified in the annual work plan as it relates to RAM activities.
4. Work with Managers in preparation and administration of annual operating budgets required to support RAM activities
5. Assists long-term and short-term planning personnel in building annual maintenance plans and schedules for project work and maintenance backlog, using priority and equipment service availability constraints to optimize LIL availability and RAM activities.
6. Provides feedback to the short term and long-term planning staff to ensure that key knowledge is compiled for future work and process improvements.
7. Maintains effective record keeping on the quality/quantity of completed work related to RAM. Monitors maintenance execution productivity and effectiveness, and provides reports on work execution metrics associated with RAM to Senior Manager, HVDC Transmission.
8. Ensures that work is performed in accordance with approved work methods and within the guidelines of Owner’s Work Protection Code (Permit to Work system).
9. Works with Managers, Operations, Asset Specialists, Engineering and Contractor to optimize maintenance tactics on all assigned equipment and assists to reduce outage durations.
10. Maintains effective relationships with Operations, Engineering, Assets, Project Management, Long and Short-term Planning personnel.
11. Monitors equipment maintenance costs ensuring that they are within budget and reforecasts where necessary on a monthly basis as it relates to RAM.
12. Prepares business continuity plans as would be required to cover any foreseeable equipment emergency to ensure optimization of RAM requirements.
13. Ensures that adequate inventory levels are maintained as necessary to maintain the equipment as it relates to RAM.
14. Assists Engineering, Asset Specialist and Operations in the investigation of equipment problems,
communicates details to the appropriate personnel, identifies trends and makes recommendations for mediation, replacement or upgrade. 15. Maintains a current knowledge of applicable engineering standards, Government codes and standards, Corporate Policy & Procedures, Work Protection Codes, Loss Control Standards, Project Management Manual, Corporate Purchasing Procedures, Corporate Safety Manual, and Environmental Standards.
16. Ensures compliance with all pertinent legislative requirements such as OH&S Act, TDG Act, Environmental Protection Act, Labor Standards Act, etc.
17. Performs other related duties as required.

**Qualifications Required**
Minimum educational/experience requirements for Coordinator, RAM at the Soldiers Pond Facility:

- Degree in Electrical Engineering, three (3) year electrical or electronic Technology program. A combination of relevant education and experience may also be accepted.
- Experience working with an electrical utility.
- Knowledge and/or experience of RAM protocols and execution would be an asset.
- Incumbents shall work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policies & Procedures and strive to eliminate any potential risk which could result in personal injury or occupational illness
