We are currently looking for an Event Coordinator who will be responsible for the support of project management and operational delivery of events produced by The Economist Impact Events. This position reports into the Event Manager or Senior Event Manager (Operations). You will plan, coordinate and control the activities of event projects to meet organisational and operational objectives.
Accountabilities:
**Project management**:
- Project Management documentation and support during delivery phase
- Support and document internal kick off
- Support project manager with keeping project on track
- Take meeting minutes
- Facilitate internal communications before, during and post event including meeting agendas, notes, presentations etc.
- Debrief
- Help build project timelines to include all deliverables and scope of work, map sponsorship into plan as it evolves
- Manage multiple events simultaneously
- Coordinate and log client debriefs
- Facilitate client training
- Monitor sponsor inbox during busiest periods
- Manage project budgets
**Event management**:
- Carry out and support with operations processes as required for all events:
- Location and venue selection/ platform build
- Venue management
- Event design
- Logistics and delivery
- Staging and production
- All event aspects including accommodation, catering, signage, attendee experience
- Event schedules and communication
Experience, skills and professional attributes:
**Education and Experience**
- Experience with international events in the b2b industry
- Demonstrated experience managing events
- Proficiency in CRM systems advantageous
**Key Competencies**
- Good client management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a changing, fast-paced work environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with event technologies, and ability to assess new technologies and make strategic recommendations
- Able to fulfil flexible working hours during busy periods, and travel as required
- Proactive, reliable, results orientated
- Curiosity and a basic interest in global affairs
- Good presentation skills
- Works well under pressure
