**Role Description
**Job Purpose
Ø Drive initiatives and projects in the area of packing material development arising out of various changes in the existing designs of packing materials or introduction of new packing materials and vendors.

**Primary Responsibilities

**Key Performance Indicators
Ø Take up projects of packing material development which may be initiated because of requirements from New Product Development, Purchase, Marketing or design change requests raised by plants

Ø Track progress in all the projects taken up by department so as to ensure timely completion of projects

Ø Understand and analyze customer complaints, propose solutions and implement the same

Ø Identify cost effective packaging, propose and take up cost saving projects

Ø Prepare monthly reports to be circulated to hierarchy and Purchase - TC based recommendations, TC based deletions, Upapproval Calendar, Savings Tracker, six monthly self-certification of APQS processes, Tracker of Cost Increase because of Packaging Changes, Objective List Status Tracker

Ø Analyze and propose changes in specifications and test methods

Ø Comply with 5-S requirements for their respective work stations and common areas belonging to department

Ø Work on IT enablement projects

Ø Build knowledge base on recent trends in packing materials, printing technologies, etc.

Ø Development of new vendors - vendor audits, shortlist and make a proposal for new vendor introduction

**Scope of Work

- Driving packing material saving projects and ensuring timely completion of the same.**b) People Management Scope **(Range of no. of Direct/ Indirect Reports):

- Good co-ordination with internal & external stake-holders**c) Geography Coverage (Country-wide/ State-wide / Area-wide)
- Packing material and vendor development in India**d) Corporate Coverage (Company-wide / Business Unit or Function-wide / Sub-function-wide / Other):
- Packing material and vendor development in one PM categories for Decorative Business Unit**Key Interactions

- PM Purchase, Planning, Marketing, Customer Centricity, New Products, Technology, QA**External
- PM vendors, Artwork development agencies**Role Requirements / Specifications
**Qualifications
- Essential- Post Graduate in Packaging- Desired**Previous Experience
- Essential- Minimum 2-3 years in PM Purchase, PM QA, PM Development- Desired**Functional Competencies
- Basic knowledge of various quality systems and quality improvement tools- Knowledge of packing materials, their manufacturing processes, printing technologies**Behavioral Competencies
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for working with internal and external stakeholders- Good negotiation skills on commercial terms and conditions, pricing, etc.**Additional Requirements
