**Job Description: Desktop L2 - Security Patches**

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Desktop L2 - Security Patches professional to join our IT team at Alkem Laboratories. In this role, you will be responsible for managing security patches across various systems, ensuring the timely deployment of updates, and maintaining a secure IT environment. You will work closely with the IT and security teams to enhance the overall security posture by identifying, deploying, and managing critical patches.

Key Responsibilities:
**1. Patch Management**:

- Monitor and identify security vulnerabilities across operating systems, software, and network devices.
- Deploy security patches and updates as per a defined schedule and in response to emerging threats.
- Conduct patch testing in a controlled environment to evaluate the impact before full-scale deployment.

**2. Vulnerability Management**:

- Perform regular vulnerability scans to identify systems that require updates or patches.
- Collaborate with the security team to prioritize patches based on severity, risk, and impact to business operations.

**3. Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of all applied patches, including version history, deployment dates, and any associated notes.
- Generate and present reports on patch compliance, highlighting areas of improvement and recommending strategies for better patch management.

**4. Coordination and Communication**:

- Clearly communicate potential impacts of patches to involved teams, ensuring full documentation of changes made.

**5. Policy and Compliance**:

- Develop and enforce patch management policies in alignment with industry best practices and the company’s security needs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements regarding system updates and security patches.

**6. Incident Response Support**:

- Assist in addressing security incidents by deploying critical patches swiftly and efficiently, or rolling back updates when necessary.
- Evaluate the root cause of vulnerabilities and collaborate with teams to implement long-term solutions to avoid recurrence.

Required Qualifications:

- Proven experience in desktop support, security patch management, or IT operations.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and patch deployment methodologies.
- Understanding of industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements related to patching and security.

Desired Skills:

- Certification in IT security or systems management (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, etc.)
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
