**Job Summary**: The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. This role is ideal for individuals eager to learn and develop their culinary skills while contributing to a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Food Preparation**:

- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to recipes and standards set by the Chef de Partie or Head Chef.
- Measure and mix ingredients, and handle food items safely and efficiently.
- Prepare garnishes, sauces, and side dishes as needed.
- **Kitchen Maintenance**:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow hygiene and safety standards to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Properly store and label ingredients and supplies.
- **Support and Assistance**:

- Support other chefs and kitchen staff in various tasks as required.
- Assist in inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Learn and adhere to the kitchen’s standard operating procedures.
- **Quality Control**:

- Ensure that food is prepared and presented to the highest quality.
- Follow recipes and portion controls to maintain consistency.
- **Training and Development**:

- Actively participate in training sessions and learn new techniques.
- Seek feedback and actively work on improving culinary skills.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Culinary school diploma or relevant certification preferred, but not required.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus, but not necessary.
- **Skills**: Basic cooking skills, knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, and the ability to work under pressure.
- **Attributes**: Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, attention to detail, and good communication skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- The role requires standing for long periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
