**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Site Safety Management**:
- Monitor and enforce site-specific safety policies and procedures for HVAC-related works.
- Ensure that all HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair activities are conducted in a safe manner.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of HVAC work areas to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure that workers are provided with the necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and training.
- Collaborate with the site management team to integrate safety plans into the project schedule.
- **Compliance with Safety Standards**:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and other relevant safety laws.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HVAC safety standards and implement them on the site.
- Advise on the safe operation of HVAC equipment, machinery, and tools used by workers.
- Maintain documentation for safety compliance, inspections, and incident reporting.
- **Risk Assessment and Hazard Management**:
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential safety hazards related to HVAC works.
- Investigate incidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper ventilation, electrical, and gas safety procedures are in place for HVAC systems.
- **Training and Awareness**:
- Organize safety training and toolbox talks for HVAC workers to raise awareness of safety practices and procedures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety training programs and ensure all staff are properly trained on equipment and protocols.
- Provide guidance on safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials like refrigerants, oils, and solvents.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Prepare safety reports, incident logs, and risk assessments.
- Assist in the preparation of safety documentation for safety audits and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain records of site safety activities, including safety meetings and safety equipment inspections.
- **Coordination and Communication**:
- Act as a liaison between HVAC workers, supervisors, and the management team to communicate safety concerns and recommendations.
- Promote a culture of safety across the entire project team and subcontractors involved in HVAC work.
- Coordinate with external safety authorities or inspectors during audits or inspections.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications in safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
- **Experience**:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC systems installation, maintenance, or safety management.
- Proven track record in safety compliance and risk management within the construction, HVAC, or related industries.
- **Skills**:
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and associated safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of local and national safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
- Ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to train and educate workers on safety procedures.
- **Personal Attributes**:
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to safety management.
**Working Conditions**:
- The role involves regular site visits in potentially hazardous construction or operational environments.
- May require working in extreme weather conditions and irregular hours.
- Travel may be required based on site locations.
