We are looking for a talented and driven **Kitchen Supervisor** to join our team and oversee the daily operations of our kitchen.
**Position Summary**:
The Kitchen Supervisor will be the leader of the kitchen team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all kitchen activities. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for quality, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. The Kitchen Supervisor will oversee food preparation, manage staff, enforce safety and sanitation standards, and contribute to the overall success of the kitchen.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Leadership & Staff Management**:
- Lead, motivate, and manage kitchen staff to ensure maximum productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to kitchen team members, including cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers.
- Foster a positive and cooperative team environment that prioritizes collaboration and high morale.
- Develop schedules, assign duties, and ensure adequate staffing levels for all shifts.
- **Kitchen Operations**:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation, presentation, and service standards are met consistently.
- Ensure proper organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of all kitchen areas, complying with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure stock rotation to minimize waste and maintain consistent product quality.
- Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth communication and timely food delivery to customers.
- **Quality Control & Consistency**:
- Ensure that all food is prepared according to recipes, portion control standards, and restaurant specifications.
- Perform regular quality checks of prepared dishes to ensure taste, presentation, and overall quality.
- Address and resolve any customer complaints or food-related issues promptly and professionally.
- **Health & Safety Compliance**:
- Enforce kitchen safety and hygiene standards, ensuring all food safety protocols are followed, including proper storage and handling of food items.
- Monitor kitchen equipment for proper functioning, initiate maintenance as needed, and ensure staff operates equipment safely.
- Stay up-to-date on food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with all local health regulations.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Supervisor, Kitchen Manager, or in a similar leadership role within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction to the team.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, solve problems efficiently, and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in a high-volume or fine-dining restaurant.
- Ability to create and implement kitchen workflows that improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, cost control, and food waste reduction.
