**Job Title**: PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA)

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities:Database Administration & Maintenance**
- Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL databases and related tools.
- Manage and maintain database security, including access controls and encryption.
- Ensure high availability, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Perform regular database health checks and capacity planning.

**Performance Tuning & Optimization**
- Analyze slow queries and optimize indexing strategies.
- Fine-tune database configurations to improve efficiency.
- Implement caching and partitioning strategies for large-scale databases.

**Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery**
- Design and implement backup and recovery policies.
- Perform database restores and disaster recovery testing.
- Maintain data integrity and availability through replication and failover strategies.

**Automation & Scripting**
- Develop automation scripts for database maintenance tasks using Bash, Python, or SQL.
- Utilize tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Kubernetes for database provisioning.

**Collaboration & Documentation**
- Work closely with developers to optimize database queries and schema design.
- Document database configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Provide support for database-related issues in production and development environments.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
- Strong SQL query optimization and performance tuning skills.
- Hands-on experience with replication (Streaming Replication, Logical Replication, etc.).
- Proficiency in backup & recovery strategies using tools like pgBackRest or Barman.
- Knowledge of database security best practices (encryption, access control).
- Experience with cloud-based PostgreSQL solutions (AWS RDS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like pgAdmin, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Strong scripting skills in **Bash, Python, or SQL**.

**Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)**:

- Experience with PostgreSQL clustering and sharding.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Redis.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
- PostgreSQL certifications (e.g., **Certified PostgreSQL DBA**).
