As a member of the product development team, the Product Owner provides clarity to the technical team about new features and improvements to products and services. All work is prioritized together with Product Managers goal to deliver value to all stakeholders. Product Owners specifies with input from Product Managers, Product Expert and other sources, new functionality and improvements to existing functionality, and ensure that the team understand the specifications.

Software is developed according to Scrum principles.

Duties and responsibilities
- Develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and features to ensure work aligns with Product Managers product strategy.
- Develop detailed product specifications and ensure they’re clearly understood by relevant teams.
- Maintain a prioritized backlog for products and services.
- Plan and follow up development sprints with team.
- Be available for the development teams to clarify questions during sprints.
- Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals.
- Participates in coordination meeting between Product Owners to resolve dependencies and to optimize the development throughput.

**Qualifications**:

- Must have Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Nautical Sciences or Marine Engineering.
- Must have Certificate of competency as Master Mariner, Chief Engineer.
- Must have five or more years of experience in product development.
- Knowledge of the Scrum process is must.
- Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology is desirable
- In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management is desirable
- Understanding of business value related to features and functions, will be a plus
- Practical Experience on board ships in a senior management position, will be a plus

Personal qualities
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams and external stakeholders, is a must.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong Leadership Skills with an ability to drive things in the right direction.
- Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders.
