**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
As a Litigation Officer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the legal and litigation processes within the organization. The Litigation Officer will contribute to the development and execution of legal strategies, maintain accurate legal records, and provide guidance on legal issues as needed.

Indus Parking Services is an established Car Parking Management Company, with extensive and comprehensive experience in the UK parking control industry. We manage and operate in over 500 car parks across the UK, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

As a Litigation Officer, your responsibilities will include:

- Provide specialist legal advice and assistance on all aspects of Debt Collection for a wide range of debts.
- Take a proactive approach to the recovery of debt and approach the role robustly.
- Be responsible in litigation on behalf of the company to and including trial and to instruct counsel as appropriate.
- Provide proactive legal advice and assistance to meet the needs of members and officers and to assist with client liaison.
- To deal with individual casework and prepare associated documentation.
- To advise on disputes with third parties on behalf of the company.
- To deal with corporate complaints and Members' inquiries, data protection and FOI requests.
- To keep up to date with changes in the law and other developments in this area of work.
- Ordering documents from the Land Registry.
- Day-to-day work to include issuing claims for Judgment/Decree, Statutory Demands, and Enforcing Judgment/Decree.

**Qualifications and Professional Membership Requirements**:

- Degree level or above, have contract law knowledge.

**Experience**:

- Experience in debt recovery and various enforcement actions.
- Advocacy experience in the Commercial Sector.
- 1-2 years of experience in the same field.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Ability to personally handle all aspects of debt collection, from negotiation to Court action and finally enforcement.
- Ability to appear as an advocate at court or in public inquiries or tribunals, if necessary, confidence presenting at court.
- Leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write accurate and engaging copy/correspondence for a range of audiences.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong role model who demonstrates a personal commitment to high standards of public service, honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
- Ability to work flexibly, on own initiative, and collaboratively both corporately and departmentally.
- First-class ability to prioritize and manage own workload.
- Highly proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel as well as case management and time recording software.
- Willingness to undertake staff training and development as required as well as supervise the work of the Financial Litigation Team.
