**Overview**:
As an Academic Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic journey. Your guidance and advice will help students navigate through their academic challenges and make informed decisions regarding their educational and career paths.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide academic counseling to students regarding course selection, academic planning, and goal setting
- Assess students' academic progress and provide intervention strategies when necessary
- Assist students in understanding and adhering to academic policies and procedures
- Conduct one-on-one sessions to address students' academic and personal concerns
- Organize and facilitate workshops on study skills, time management, and academic success strategies
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success initiatives
- Develop and maintain academic counseling resources and materials
- Keep accurate records of counseling interactions and student progress
- Participate in recruitment events and assist with student orientation programs
- Stay updated on educational trends and resources to provide relevant information to students

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field
- Proven experience in academic advising or counseling role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of academic policies and procedures
- Ability to empathize and support students from diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency in using counseling software and tools
- Familiarity with career and academic assessment tools
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities
