Introduction:
Barclays liquidity, capital and balance sheet position are great sources of strength to the bank and have helped to differentiate Barclays as a market leader, demonstrated during the recent challenging market conditions, where we have continued to be successful in managing these resources to support all of Barclays businesses whilst responding to unprecedented levels of enquiry and scrutiny from regulators and stakeholders.
This role is primarily responsible for RWA & Leverage reporting within Treasury Finance. This includes: Daily/monthly analysis of RWA/ Leverage balances, operating associated controls, reconciliations and forecasting. Completing the management review for the desk. In addition, the role will require to run strategic agenda and provide ad hoc support for wider team.
The role-holder will need to understand the hierarchy of Barclays, acquire an in-depth knowledge of the RWA & Leverage methodologies of the various Capital ratio calculations and be able to advise, implement and explain the impacts of any changes to the balances and ratios over time

What will you be doing?
- Preparation/reconciliation of Leverage/RWA/Cash exemption balances on a monthly and/or daily basis to the agreed service level agreement with the stakeholders for all business/Legal Entities in scope for reporting
- Liaise with CaLM, TFI and FLM to forecast Leverage and RWA balances in line with Risk appetite of Treasury
- Perform allocations of Capital Metrics/balance sheet items by working closely with Financial Control/Product Control and Regulatory Reporting teams
- Perform variance analysis and provide correct and effective commentary and insights on movements compared to prior forecasts
- Preparation & presentation of Review Decks to the senior stakeholders
- Sound knowledge on Capital Structure of a bank and Basel guidelines I, II, III/CRR2.0 regulations and how Capital Adequacy rules are applied/ implemented
- Strong understanding of macro factors and its impact
- Liaise with multiple key stakeholders and business partner teams across geographic locations on an ongoing basis and manage the expectations from stakeholders on overall delivery, for timelines, quality and efficiency
- Support the Control and Governance for Capital team
- Provide Treasury Consultancy and Business Support for new transactions and Group Projects, Understand the data flow and be able to articulate gaps and issues with timely escalations
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert providing help and guidance on complex processes.

What we’re looking for:

- Professional Accountancy qualification e.g. CA, MBA, CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA
- Adequate years of experience in Banking/Financial Sector
- Exposure to Treasury products and functions will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication skills, able to present complex issues confidently to senior stakeholders
- Strong technical accounting ability, incl. ability to effectively communicate technical material to non-experts
- Good knowledge of SAP, treasury systems and excel
