Position Title: Bakery and Pastry Commis 1
Position Overview:
As a Bakery and Pastry Commis 1, you will assist in the production of bakery and pastry items in accordance with established recipes and procedures. You will work under the supervision of experienced pastry chefs to ensure the quality and consistency of baked goods. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a passion for creating delicious pastries and baked goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for pastry and bakery items, such as dough, fillings, and icings, according to recipes and instructions.
- Assist in the production of various baked goods, including bread, cakes, pastries, cookies, and desserts.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment and tools, such as mixers, ovens, and pastry molds, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Monitor baking processes, adjusting oven temperatures, baking times, and humidity levels as necessary to achieve desired results.
- Decorate and finish baked goods with toppings, glazes, and fillings, following established presentation guidelines.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation, storage organization, and ingredient ordering as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following sanitation and hygiene standards at all times.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of bakery and pastry products.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and meet customer demands.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior pastry cooks and kitchen apprentices, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a bakery or pastry kitchen preferred.
- Knowledge of basic baking techniques, including mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking.
- Familiarity with a variety of pastry and bakery ingredients, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently produce high-quality baked goods.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for precision in pastry and bakery work.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Formal culinary training or education in pastry arts is a plus, but not required.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
