About the team

What you will be doing:

- The engineer will be responsible for providing support for the Worldwide Payment Gateway (WPG)
- WPG is a critical eCommerce payment processing platform
- The team is growing in size to accommodate the customer growth during recent and future years.
- The team will operate according to the defined and deployed global operating model, maximising consistency across the wider global group
- This role requires the engineer to work as part of a team to seek resolution of production incidents
- The role includes working alongside the business stakeholders and helping to build a positive profile of the team that fully supports the Worldpay values

What you bring:

- 7+ Years of experience in Relational databases including experience of database design - preferably Unix, SQL ,Shell Scripting
- Platform skills: UNIX/Linux OS system admin, Oracle database, SQL Developer, SOAP UI, Control-M, Splunk, and Web server admin (basic web layer config),
- Program/Language skills: Shell scripting, UNIX utilities, Java program/JVM support (app troubleshooting, log parsing, debugging, etc.), SQL, batch file transfer protocols and processing.
- System monitoring and Support:

- Incident and defect/enhancement ticket management and tracking with multiple Support and Ops teams.
- Application code management across production and non-production environments for multiple hosted clients.
- Team involvement in Enterprise level Disaster Recovery testing, exercises, and validation.
