Logistic Executive

As a **Logistics Executive** in a Vidya Wires Limited, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the end-to-end logistics operations related to the manufacturing and delivery of products. This includes overseeing transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and ensuring that materials and finished goods are efficiently moved across the supply chain while meeting customer demands and maintaining quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Material Management**:

- Coordinate and manage the procurement of raw materials (such as copper, Aluminium, insulation materials, etc.) required for production.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of raw materials to the manufacturing facility.
- Oversee storage of raw materials and finished products in the warehouse, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- **Inventory Control**:

- Track the movement of raw materials and finished products, ensuring accurate inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking of products.
- Conduct regular stock audits to ensure accuracy in physical and system-based inventory.
- **Transportation and Distribution**:

- Plan and organize transportation for both inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods.
- Optimize routes and methods of transportation to minimize costs and delivery times.
- Ensure that the final wire and cable products are delivered to clients and distribution centers in a timely and safe manner.
- Work with third-party logistics providers for transportation of products and materials.
- **Production Support**:

- Ensure a continuous supply of raw materials to the production line without disruption.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule materials and manage supply to avoid downtime.
- Assist in planning the transportation and storage of any by-products or scrap materials generated during manufacturing.
- **Customer Order Fulfilment**:

- Coordinate the shipment of wire and cable products to customers, ensuring on-time delivery in accordance with sales orders and customer requirements.
- Address any logistics-related concerns from customers, such as delays, damaged goods, or delivery issues.
- Communicate proactively with sales teams and customers to provide updates on order status.
- **Vendor and Supplier Coordination**:

- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and transport companies.
- Negotiate favorable terms with logistics providers for transportation, storage, and warehousing services.
- Track and manage the performance of third-party logistics providers to ensure they meet company standards.
- **Compliance and Documentation**:

- Ensure that all logistics processes comply with relevant regulations, including import/export laws, environmental guidelines, and industry-specific standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation for shipping, customs clearance, and any relevant regulatory filings.
- Monitor and adhere to industry safety standards, especially regarding the handling and transportation of materials like copper or chemicals.
- **Cost Management**:

- Monitor logistics costs, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory holding costs.
- Propose strategies to reduce costs without compromising service or quality.
- Assist in preparing budget forecasts related to logistics operations.
- **Technology and Software Utilization**:

- Use logistics and supply chain management software like ERP to track shipments, inventory, and warehouse operations.
- Leverage technology to streamline logistics operations and improve efficiency.
- Implement automation where applicable to reduce human error and increase speed in logistics processes.
- **Problem Solving**:

- Resolve issues related to delivery delays, inventory discrepancies, or transportation failures.
- Address any challenges related to product quality during transportation, such as damage to cables or wires.
- Analyze logistics operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- **Experience**: 4-5 years of experience in logistics, preferably in a manufacturing environment (experience in wire & cable manufacturing is a plus).
- **Skills**:

- Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, and inventory management principles.
- Familiarity with wire and cable manufacturing processes and materials (e.g., copper, Aluminium, insulation).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems (ERP, TMS, WMS, Excel).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and documentation.
