**Job description**

**Role & responsibilities:

- **
- Knowledge of different variety of Pastry.
- The assistant chef is responsible for planning and directing food preparation in a kitchen standard recipes and procedure
- Keeping an eye out for problems that arise in the kitchen and seizing control of a situation at a moments notice.
- Ensure of safety and hygiene procedures being adhered to.
- Quality and portion control
- Indenting raw materials as per the production and requirement.
- Checking the quality of received perishables.
- Interacting with guest incase of some allergies or food complaints.
- Food cost and wastage control.
- Liaison between the junior staff and the Executive chef.

**Must be BHM Graduate Ensuring food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques meet our standard guidelines.**
- Ensuring food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques meet our standard guidelines.
- Strive continually for innovative, quality, value for money food which is presented and served in the most complimentary way.
- Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained by the entire kitchen brigade to meet Health & Safety regulations and food preparation guidelines
