**Muskan Foundation** is a Mumbai-based NGO that works for children with Multiple Disabilities and

Vision Impairment (MDVI). We maximize the potential of MDVI children by providing customized, low
- cost therapies, and special education under one roof. Recognizing the glaring gaps in the sector and the desperate needs of MDVI Children, nationally renowned Low Vision Consultant, Dipti Gandhi, founded

Muskan in 2007 to provide a one-stop-shop for MDVI children and their families living in Mumbai and nearby areas.

Muskan Foundation could so far rehabilitate 2462 children with MDVI, empower around 4271, trained

52 special educators, and conducted more than 60 awareness sessions in different parts of India. Muskan is growing and expanding. With around 50 staff and 5 existing centers, Muskan

Foundation is expanding its wings of care and services to Special children.

Role: Chief Operating Officer

Type of Employement: Full Time

Head Office Location: Bandra East, Mumbai

Holidays: 24 Days Earned Leave, 12 Days Casual Leave, 12 Public Holidays

About the Job: We are looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer (5+ years minimum) to play a vital leadership role within the organization and to support the CEO & Founder in the professionalising of programs and operations

**IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGIC PLAN**
- Will be responsible to play a leadership role in the organisation and to drive the implementation of the Muskan Strategic Plan across all levels
- Will be responsible to report on progress of the strategic plan to CEO for all Board meetings of Muskan, to keep Trustees abreast of progress
- Will be responsible to play a key role in supporting the annual Strategic Planning Workshop for Muskan and documenting proceedings

**ORGANISATION MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP**
- Will be responsible for the update and implementation of all policies at Muskan to ensure the smooth, professional operation of the NGO
- Will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and professional running of Muskan, in collaboration with CEO
- Will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and maximization of all facilities and equipment at Muskan
- Will be responsible to maintain complete records pertaining to the Trust/Board’s organization, activities and properties
- Will be responsible to bring appropriate issues and policy decisions to the CEO in a timely manner for discussion and resolution
- Will be responsible to maintain all regulatory compliances and certifications (ie FCRA,

Certifications Registrations etc.) in collaboration with Accountant, including liaison with Government Departments.

**HUMAN RESOURCES**
- Will be responsible for the recruitment and induction of all staff in accordance with Local

Laws and Board policies - adhering to strict recruitment process.
- Will be responsible for holding weekly team meetings and oversight of staff and the effective execution of their duties
- Will be responsible for Internal Staff Reporting and Evaluation system
- Will be responsible for identifying training opportunities and capacity building of staff
- Will be responsible to handle all grievances in relation to HR, Salaries, and compensation, working in collaboration with key advisors

**FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT & FUNDRAISING**
- Will be responsible for the development of Annual Budget and tracking of income/expenditure in accordance with that budget
- Will be responsible for the overall financial management of Muskan, in collaboration with

Accountant and Treasurer, including monitoring of receipts, expenditures and cash flow.
- Will be responsible for the streamlining of all costs and programs at Muskan
- Will be responsible to provide monthly financial reports to the Board
- Will be responsible to play a key role in driving fundraising (corporate donors, grants, HNIs) and income generation (via fee paying students) at Muskan
- **PROFESSIONALISATION OF PROGRAMS**:

- Will be responsible for working with Program and Centre Managers to plan the efficient running of all programs, including the development of necessary systems and processes.
- Will be responsible to work with key internal stakeholders to plan, document and drive the growth of new programs (ie NGO Training) for the enhanced reach and impact of Muskan across the Disability sector
- Will be responsible for overseeing Monitoring and Evaluation, in collaboration with Program

Manager, to capture key data to track the outcomes and impact of Muskan
- Will be responsible to ensure that the program quality and deliverables are enhanced over their tenure
- Will be responsible to oversee the development of key systems and processes to streamline all programs and to raise the quality and impact of program services

**OTHER**
- Will be responsible to work with CEO to identify key opportunities for playing a leadership role in the Disability sector and eco-system both within Mumbai and Mah
