**Overview**:
We are looking for a Buying & Merchandising Manager who will plan, lead, coordinate & grow the buying & merchandising activities ensuring focus on timelines, budgets, and quality of product and ensuring all deliverables are within the organization's overall strategy.
Merchandise buyers must have an eye for detail and excellent communication & analytical skills. They must be able to clearly explain what they’re looking for to the design team while also listening carefully to their feedback on potential products keeping in mind the feedback received from the retail teams and data to substantiate the understanding.
She/He will not be limited to these responsibilities and will be given the additional responsibility if the organization chooses to expand its presence in other areas it sees opportunity in. Reporting to the Corporate Head - Supply Chain, she/he will work to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities within the organization are met.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to overall merchandise & OTB planning.
- Negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best prices on merchandise or to achieve the targeted costs set out.
- Reviewing sales reports to track trends in consumer demand for products in order to adjust inventory levels accordingly.
- Participating in inventory management to ensure adequate supplies of merchandise are available at all times.
- Review sales reports and analyze trends to determine which products to buy and how much inventory to maintain.
- Reviewing new products or product lines in order to determine whether they are likely to be successful with consumers.
- Communicating with the supply chain team and to coordinate production schedules and shipping needs.
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers in order to secure new products for the store’s inventory.
- Negotiating prices with vendors for new or existing merchandise in order to get the best price possible for the brand.
- Working with designers, merchandisers, and other members of the team to develop new product lines or update existing ones.
- Reviewing sales data to determine what types of products are selling well in the store, and then ordering more of those items.
- Pushing for reduced delivery timelines based on the success of a product to meet consumer demand.
- Ensuring that there is no dead stock and that non moving items are suggested for clearance as and when required.
- Complete control of all the inventory at all retail locations and warehouses.
- Consistent feedback to the design team for them to incorporate in new product & design development.
- Understand and execute on the vision for each merchandise category, season, and trend
- Work with accounting department to stay within budget when placing orders
- Monitor stock levels and reorder merchandise as needed to avoid stock-outs.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new product offerings
- Resolve any issues that arise with vendors or products.
- Handle all aspects of the ordering process, from creating purchase orders to following up on shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases.
- Attending conferences, meetings and industry events as and when required.
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in retail buying or similar role
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs
- Excellent analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Strong negotiation skills - Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

**Salary**: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
